Mustard Seed and Yeast ~ Saints and Scripture Sunday

Saints and Scripture Sunday
Luke 13:18-21

He said therefore, “What is the kingdom of God like? And to what should I compare it? It is like a mustard seed that someone took and sowed in the garden; it grew and became a tree, and birds of the air made nest in its branches.” And again he said, “To what should I compare the kingdom of God? It is like yeast that a woman took and mixed in with three measures of flour until all of it was leavened.”

That’s my scripture for today, and here’s why. I’ve been trying to be a more positive person, but it’s just my nature to expect and prepare for the worst and then be pleasantly surprised when things don’t turn out that badly. Anyway, I was telling my friend Lisa about how frustrated I was with trying to surround myself with positive thoughts and she gave me a suggestion: Find one positive thing, however small, in every situation. I was having a really lousy morning at work yesterday, but I’d had a wonderful cup of coffee, so that was my one little thing. And you know what? It helped! So this scripture with the teeny tiny mustard seed or the little bit of yeast in the dough, is about seeding my thoughts with small positives that will take root and grow into a larger positive attitude. 1. Loved reading your post today! I find it is so very true, that by just having more positive thoughts and having the faith of a teeny, tiny mustard seed is so helpful when it comes to making one's day go so much better!

I always try to be a positive person and I especially like to start my day out on that note of thought.. I find positiveness brings positiveness.. which is wonderful..and like you mentioned, when something gets us down or not going right, even having something as simple as a small cup of coffee can make such a big difference.. and get us back in the direcion of being more on a positive outlook.. I find that when I sow a good seed, that it helps me in so many ways to become the positive person again instead of being or staying negative!

Thank you so much for posting this beautiful message today!

    Blessings,
    ~Lynn

  2. You know what's funny? I consider you one of the most positive, upbeat people that I know, which is why I call YOU when I need to vent, or a shoulder to cry on, or a voice of reason.

You have an incredible impact on people … I can attribute many things I've done that were inspired by you. Talk about a mustard seed!

    Thanks for playing along!
