Perfect Start to the Day

This is how every day should start. No alarm, just wake up when you wake up (or when the dog needs to go potty or your bedmate’s snoring too loudly, but let’s look on the bright side, ‘kay?). Yummy coffee and a hot biscuit (no, not made from scratch, the frozen ones are just delicious, I think) and finishing a really good book. I only recently discovered Dorothea Benton Frank, and I’ve loved everything I’ve read so far. She writes novels set in the Lowcountry of South Carolina, and her characters are quirky and full of life. The one I just finished this morning was “Isle of Palms”, and I could practically smell the ocean while I was reading it – just the thing when it’s cold and bleak and Spring seems so far away! Here’s a list of all her books, but I’ve had really good luck getting them through PaperBackSwap or Half.com – I do try to be frugal!

  1. I love Dorthea Benton Frank. Thanks for the reminder. I recently finished another low-country novel by Danielle Steel, Southern Lights. The location, mainly around Charleston. Having lived there I felt like I was walking down every street with them.

My books come from the library, that's frugal, except when Annie (my doggie) chews the corners off and I have to purchase the book. Not so frugal.

If you find another cup like that I really want one.

Pillsbury spent a lot of money developing their frozen biscuits and they are 100% better than any I've ever made
