Ultimate Blog Party 2010

Ooooh, a party! It’s 5 Minutes For Mom‘s Ultimate Blog Party 2010, and I can’t wait to join in! We’re all supposed to do a “Party Post” to introduce ourselves, so here goes:

I’m a life-long Southerner who can’t live without sweet tea and comfort food. I read constantly and am always on the lookout for a new author. I have a lot of great decorating and craft ideas that I don’t have the patience to follow through on. Given the choice, I’ll pick a nap over a workout any day of the week. I believe all dogs, no matter how large, should be spoiled shamelessly and allowed to sleep in the bed. I believe children should be hugged and told “I love you so much” as often as possible, no matter how old they get. The older I get, the less important my career becomes in terms of my self-worth. Unfortunately, it’s still just as important in terms of my bank account. Family members who are eccentric should be enjoyed for their entertainment value, but family members who are mean should not be invited to Thanksgiving dinner.

OK, I’m supposed to rank the prizes I’d most like to win, so here goes (there are like a thousand or so fantastic prizes – you should check it out! Click on the button on my sidebar!): I’m totally dying for an iPhone so my top pick is, of course, USC17. After that, it’s 112, 73, 74, 75, and 87. Yeah, I love Amazon 🙂

  1. Thanks for stopping by this morning! I agree with the mention of dogs being spoiled rotten—our lab is just ridiculous in the amount of spoiling she gets!

And every morning for the last 16 years, my daughter and I have had a tradition of the "Morning Hug" right after breakfast. Our son, 10, is in on the act, too. It's a terrific way to start the day!

  2. Hi, just popping in from the UBP. I love your post – especially the part about eccentric family members, LOL!

    Enjoy the party. 🙂

  3. So nice to meet you, and I'm glad you stopped by my UBP post. Can't say I like sweet tea (I'm a northern girl….what can you do?) but I'm totally with you on the nap thing. 😛

  4. Thanks for visiting my blog. I would hate to thing how much sugar I go through just making sweet tea! Just picked up 25lbs at the store yesterday.

  5. Thanks for stopping by Starry Night Moms. I love the name of your blog. I have to admit I have never had sweet tea, but it sounds wonderful.

Have fun partying with the UBP!

  6. So excited to meet another KY girl! I too am a UK grad and a sweat tea lover. I'll be checking out the blog Derby party for sure.

  7. Thanks for stopping by my site! I laughed when I read your post about your husband forgetting his glasses and taking pics of the wrong kid. I'm following you now!

  8. Loved your post! Naps — of course! Dogs on the bed — absolutely. Hugging and loving kids — without a doubt! Have fun at the UBP!
