Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
I really like this wording. “Clothe yourselves” says to me not just that we should be kind and compassionate to others, but first to OURSELVES. How compassionate are you to yourself? You you criticize yourself for not being a good enough parent, spouse, child, Christian? For not being thin enough, or working hard enough, or whatever? Are you patient and gentle with yourself?
This week I am going to work on feeling compassion for myself and being kind to myself. God loves each of us just as we are right now. Why not follow his example and try to love ourselves as well?
Thanks, Dianna, for hosting Saints and Scripture Sunday every week!
