The Food Network is dangerous. It makes me hungry for things I have no business eating. And which show is the most dangerous? Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. I can’t count the number of times I’ve been dozing off to sleep and Michael has come to bed and turned on the TV and there it is. Next thing you know I’m craving some elaborate grilled sandwich or deep-fried something-or-other.
Every Saturday and Sunday morning I like to make a nice breakfast, since I’m never home for breakfast during the week. This weekend I just wasn’t up to it, though, so I had the guys try out something I’d seen on DD&D a while back – chicken and waffles. Now mind you I didn’t mix up homemade waffle batter or fry my own chicken. I used Eggo waffles and frozen chicken strips. But they were still fairly pleased.

haha! that’s awesome.
guy fiorni (or however you spell it) has 2 restaurants in my city, he might even be from here. i love DDD!
Ooooh, are his restaurants wonderful? He seems to be a true “foodie”, loves a great burger as much as some gourmet dish
Am I a dork ?? I love chicken strips and waffles, but are you telling me that they serve them together at diners??
Yep – try it with the littles – I bet they’ll dig right in!
I saw something similar to that on America’s Next Great Restaurant and have been wanting to try it. Think I will give this a try.
Yum. It’s a great Southern breakfast, and I would like one right now, please. Extra syrup.
Of course to make it TRULY Southern I suppose we’d have to smother it in gravy instead of syrup
I stumble upon your blog from the Lady Blogger Tea Party, and I’m really grateful that I did coz I’m starting to love it. Looking forward to your next post.
