He Just Keeps Growing . . .

It’s going to be a sad day when my youngest stops growing and I paint the woodwork.  (Notice that Michael only briefly agreed to call him by his preferred name, John, and then went right back to calling him Jack.  Can a child grow up well-adjusted when his parents call him two different names?)

  1. i hate it when kids grow. 🙁 that’s why i believe in a steady diet of coffee and pepsi max to discourage growth! (kidding, of course)

  2. So cool (and a bit sad) to see all of the marks climb! I have a 2-month old and already watching her grow is bittersweet…but emphasis on the sweet 🙂

  3. I have one of these on the inside of the closet in my master bedroom. If we ever move I’ve told my husband that he will have to cut it out and replace it so I can take it with me. I should probably mention that my children are now in their thirties.

  4. Such a great choice for the photo today. We didn’t grow up marking height that way in my family, but my husband’s family did and it’s the part he misses most about the house he grew up in.

  5. I love that you do this, and take a photo of it! My children are called about three different names – ah, well! {grin}
    Your blog is lovely!
