Today IS Friday, Right?

I am being featured today over at Momma Made It Look Easy‘s cool weekly meme, Share Your Awesome.  It’s a place to link up your best post of the week.  Don’t be shy – come on over and join in!

Momma Made It Look Easy
I’m also going to link up to Conversion Diary‘s Seven Quick Takes Friday.  Let’s see if I can keep the thoughts flying through my head at this particular moment down to seven . . .

1.) Yard Sale.  My mom is having a yard sale this weekend and I’m loading up my big tank of a minivan and heading in to join the fun.  All heavy lifting and haggling will be done by John, since I’ve promised him that all proceeds from our part of the yard sale will go toward his laptop fund.  I love to drop by yard sales, usually just for entertainment value “Really, they think someone’s going to buy that?” but I do not host yard sales.  I do not even co-host them at someone else’s house.  Trust me, there will be a yard sale blog post in the near future.  If you happen to be in the Lexington, Kentucky area on Saturday DM me on Twitter and I’ll send you my mom’s address.  Please bring wine.

2.) Middle School.  They finally got power restored to the local schools after last weekend’s storms and school started Wednesday.  I’m just so thankful I don’t have to deal with carpool.  Y’all know how I feel about carpool, and my current emotional state is simply not conducive to me being in that situation without causing someone bodily harm.

3.) College.  Aaron’s finishing up band camp, and will start classes next week.  I’m not the emotional basket case I was this time last year, because I know he’s safe and happy and has everything he needs, but I still want to  hop in my car and drive down to surprise him with cupcakes and help decorate his dorm room.  I swear I won’t do it, Aaron, but the urge is strong.

4.) Pain.  The neck pain is unchanged.  The neurosurgeon still says, “Be patient, it will get better.”  My disability check is late.  I saw a therapist who is totally awesome-sauce and thinks I am doing a great job dealing with the pain but that he can help me do an even better job.  And he didn’t seem to find it odd that I sobbed practically throughout our session.  He gets bonus points for that.

5.) Pajamas.  I am The Jammie Girl, but I find myself really resenting any activity that requires me to put on clothes.  I mean, it’s not like I don’t shower and change into fresh jammies, but I’m just finding clothes and shoes a nuisance.  Can I co-host a yard sale in jammies, do you think?  Can I wear them to my next therapy appointment?

6.) E-Book.  I’ve written an e-book.  Yes, I have.  It’s just a first draft right now, but I’m getting some fantastic feedback from my Beta readers and will start revising immediately upon completion of the yard sale.

7.)  Did I mention the yard sale?  I’m a little stressed about the yard sale.  I don’t know how I got myself into this.  It has “disaster” written all over it.  Send suggestions.  And wine.

  1. Baby Girl asked me why we didn’t go to garage sales and I told her it was because you had to get up and dressed too early.

Everyone knows those PTs are sadists.

  2. I’m so sorry about your day tomorrow. I hope the wine is chilled and waiting for you. Some things I like to do at yard sales that I’m hosting include: oh, wait, there isn’t anything I like to do. Because they suck. I’m so sorry, but it will be over soon. Also, I can’t wait to hear more about this e-book!!!

  3. Way back when I used to get up early and head out to yard sales, now not so much.

I can not even imagine the pain of hosting one.

    Sorry about your neck pain.

We are waiting for my daughter’s middle school schedule to come in. She has been stalking the mailman,
