Sweet Bacon Chicken Wraps from Pinterest

Bacon and brown sugar? Count me in! I defrosted some raw bacon the other day specifically to make these (I usually only keep the partially cooked kind in the house) but as I started to make them I realized I had no wooden toothpicks! The ones I thought were wooden were plastic, and that would have been pretty nasty after thirty minutes in the oven. So I improvised. I wrapped the cubes of raw chicken in bacon and snuggled them close together in a brownie pan. Then I mixed the brown sugar and chili powder and sprinkled it over the top. We ate it for supper over rice, and it was delicious! Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture :( Next time I will get some toothpicks, but I think I’ll do the topping the same way – it’s so much easier! And it actually took a full forty minutes for the chicken to get completely done rather than the thirty to thirty-five the recipe suggests. I think these would be great to take to a potluck or serve as appetizers at a Christmas party.

I’m linking this up to Oh, How Pinteresting, The 52 Weeks of Pinterest Challenge, Works for Me Wednesday, Whatever Goes Wednesday, and The Mommy Club Resources and Solutions.  And since it’s a recipe I’ll also link up to The Grocery Cart Challenge Recipe Swap, and Tastetastic Thursday.

Priced at just $4.99, it is now available in every format your little heart could desire at Smashwords, or, if you prefer, it’s also for sale in a Kindle version at Amazon or a Nook version at Barnes and Noble!  It makes a great Christmas present, and Amazon will deliver it be email on the date you choose – how easy is that?

Here from A Little Nosh. These sound fabulous! I didn’t see a recipe though or a link to the recipe – am I missing something?

Just click on the picture or the link just below. I didn’t want to steal the original cook’s recipe, just link to it and say what I’d altered.

Here’s the full link if Pinterest is being wonky and not taking you there (it does that sometimes when their site is bogged down):

These would make a great appetizer! We used to wrap chicken livers in bacon with water chestnuts. I think they were called rumaki. I need to make some for Christmas.
