Ten Classic Movies I Need to See

Top Ten Tuesday at Many Little Blessings
I started this list a couple of weeks ago when I caught the last half of a documentary on the making of Scarface and realized I’d never seen the movie in its entirety.  I started to wonder what other classic movies I’d missed out on! With the help of friends, family, Wikipedia, and Netflix, here’s my to-watch list:

~The Graduate~

~Ben Hur~

~Scarface~

~Cat on a Hot Tin Roof~

~Casablanca~

~The African Queen~

~A Streetcar Named Desire~

~The King and I~

~Rebecca~

~The Last Picture Show~

There are actually another half-dozen on the list, but these will be the first ones I watch.  I started with The African Queen a couple of days ago, and absolutely adored it.  Of course I’m a huge Katherine Hepburn fan, so I have no idea how I’d missed seeing this over the years!  Has everyone else seen all these movies, or am I the only one who’s chosen, instead, to watch The Big Chill, Steel Magnolias, and Gone With the Wind until I can recite every line?

  1. Cat on a Hot Tin Roof! A Streetcar Named Desire! The Last Picture Show! Put down what you’re doing and go watch them now! I’ll wait…. Ok, how much did you love them? 😉

    1. I know, can you believe I haven’t seen any of these? What have I been doing with my life? And it feels good to be back in the swing of things 😉

  2. I’ve seen The King and I, and The Graduate (actually went to a movie theater and saw that!) But I haven’t seen Steel Magnolias, Fried Green Tomatoes, or An Officer and A Gentleman. Friends at work are threatening an intervention.

    1. Don’t bother with An Officer and a Gentleman. Debra Winger is so whiny I could just throttle her. I’ll bring you Steel Magnolias (after Lydia’s wedding – wouldn’t want you dehydrated from crying).
