Write What You Love, Love What You Write ~ April 7

love to write

Join me every Monday to share a favorite snippet from your work in progress – fiction, non-fiction, poetry, whatever suits your fancy! Write it in a post and link it up below, or just share in the comments section. Use this as an opportunity to hold yourself accountable – don’t let Monday roll around and find you with no new words written 😉

“You had every right to hang up on me that night.  Me calling you out of the blue when we hadn’t spoken for over a year, hadn’t even seen each other since I married that asshole.”  She sighed and took a deep drink.  “You’re a good friend.  My very best friend, I guess.  If I’d spent more time with you maybe I’d have never ended up married in the first place.”  She said married with a distaste usually reserved for words like gangrenous or putrid.

“What, your girlfriends didn’t try to talk you out of it?”  Jimmy was genuinely puzzled.  He’d known from the first glance that the sleaze in the ill-fitting suit wasn’t the man to make Anna happy.  And yet down the aisle Anna had gone, in her simple white dress and cascading curls, a tiny veil not even attempting to hide her sweet smile.  A smile meant only for the man at the front of the church, the one who’d no doubt spent that night in bed with Anna while Jimmy tossed and turned and fought off “what-if” demons all night.
