Aaron’s Nineteenth Birthday!

Aaron's nineteenth birthday

Aaron’s nineteenth birthday is today, but we celebrated yesterday with a trip to Morehead State University to watch him march with The World’s Most Dangerous Drumline, then dinner at my mom’s house in Lexington.  It was a beautiful day for a football game and this was the first time we’d seen the band’s full show – it was spectacular!

My step-father, Greg, had made a pot of chili, which was delicious!  If I can get him to share his recipe I’ll post it.  Later we were lucky enough to have my Aunt Beverly’s Red Velvet Cake (Aaron’s favorite).

I hadn’t looked carefully at the candles I’d bought, though, and it turned out they were the kind that throw sparks and are extremely difficult to blow out.  The up side is I actually got several good pictures of Aaron blowing out his candles – maybe I’ll start buying that kind for every birthday!

Aaron drove his car to his grandmother’s since we’d be heading home from there and he’d be heading back to Morehead.  He came in the shirt he’d worn under his band uniform.  He didn’t pack a toothbrush, deodorant, or change of clothes.  I suppose he’s not all grown up yet.

    1. They have actually copywrited “The World’s Most Dangerous Drumline” at MSU! I think it’s a teenage guy thing, you know “We’re so good we’re dangerous!” but it cracks me up, so I use it all the time 🙂

  1. I had Aaron on my mind all day yesterday. Seems like it was just yesterday that he was born. I am so proud of the young man he has become.

  2. Angie, he’s 19, those things just were not on his mind. It was that red velvet cake he was thinking about Ha! He is a good fellow though, and I’m very proud of all he is accomplishing — you and Michael have done a great job. Congrats!
