Easy-Peasy Beef Marinade

Have I mentioned I’m doing NaNoWriMo?  And that the company I work for is being bought out?  And that I’m on high-dose steroids?  It’s not a good week.  But, as we all know, you have to eat.  So this week we’re going with simple meals.  Which, today, meant hitting Kroger on Old People Day (which I HATE) to get milk and bread, and hoping for a superfast plan.  There were some steaks in the “sell them today” bin that were uber-cheap, so I snagged them.  Use the right marinade and they’re delicious.  Here it is:

2 Tbsp soy sauce

2 Tbsp brown sugar

1 tsp fresh ginger (from a tube I buy in the produce section of my Kroger)

2 Tbsp white wine (from the box in my fridge)

2 Tbsp olive oil

2 tsp chopped garlic (from a jar in the Kroger produce section)

Mix all this up in a gallon ziplock and it’s enough to marinate 4 steaks.  Leave them out on the counter at room temperature for a couple of hours while you do 20 minutes of Zumba, 30 minutes (2 days) of cleaning per HomeRoutines iPhone app,and talk a couple of people down out of their trees about the buy-out.  Grill to medium-rare and serve with canned peas and Smashed Panfried Potatoes.  You’re welcome.

  1. Funny post especially the wine box sounds familiar to my past cooking with wine .
I love the crack of old people day.. I thought everyday was old people day.. at least I try to hit the store several times a week , walk slow, peer at the shelf prices as if I can not see the small print ( which I can’t and pay with small bills and change to hold up the line.
You have a fun sense of humor even if you are speaking your mind. I will return Grace
