Did this winter seem abnormally long to you? It certainly did to me, so I’m thrilled to finally be able to move some of our family activities outdoors (even though our hometown is the allergy capital of the U.S.)! We’re incorporating more fresh veggies for a healthier diet, walking the dogs more often to guarantee the entire family gets more exercise, and adding a natural probiotic for improved digestive system balance. Let’s face it – it you have bowels issues you’re not going to be excited about a hike, a picnic, or even sitting in the bleachers for a ballgame. Here’s my favorite dog to walk: she just the right size for me to handle. Too bad I have to borrow her!

And this beautiful tree is just a few houses down – a great excuse to start a walk!

When I was searching the shelves for a probiotic (who knew there were so many choices?) Insync  dietary supplement was the first to catch my eye with its bright packaging. When I saw it was priced nearly the same as the store brand the bargain-shopper in me sealed the deal 🙂

I found it in the Health and Beauty section of my Walmart SuperCenter, in the same aisle with the antacids and laxatives (OK, the “bowel aisle”). But enough about my shopping habits.

Those of you who know me also know I’m dealing with chronic health conditions which require medication on a regular schedule. So it was no problem adding Insync Probiotic to my daily routine. If you don’t normally take any medications at all try setting the bottle somewhere you’ll see it every day or setting an alarm on your phone. It’s worth getting into the habit!

One of my favorite Spring and Summer activities is gardening. This has truly turned into a family affair since my spinal surgeries. I supervise (nag) while the guys do the hard work. I’m particularly proud that this year my tulips and grape hyacinths bloomed at the same time. Most of the time the grape hyacinths are gone before the tulips bloom, and I grumble about all the effort I went to years ago to plant them together!

tulips14Here’s what I’m looking forward to most of all this summer: marching band practice. I always show up early, park close, and roll down my windows so I can get the full effect. Those twelve-hour days in the heat of the summer wear my fifteen-year-old out, but he’s more anxious than I am for this year’s show to get started. This year he won’t be a Freshman newbie, but an experienced Sophomore 🙂

  1. I’ve been thinking about taking a probiotic and I like the sound of taking something natural. I have “issues” and it would be nice to enjoy this spring and summer without dealing with all the problems. #client
