Gravy, Shopping, Writing, and THE NEW PROJECT
I’ve had five days off from work. Â During those five days I cooked an entire Thanksgiving dinner, INCLUDING my first successful gravy attempt. Â Thank you, Joyce at October Farm, for the best gravy recipe ever! Â Then we spent several hours Thanksgiving night in the ER with my Father-in-Law, who had passed out during Thanksgiving dinner at my sister-in-laws. Â He’s fine – it was just overeating and overheating. Â On Black Friday I stayed in my jammies all day (you know how I love to do that!) but my eldest son braved the 4 a.m. crowds. Â Here’s a picture of him with his haul:
The leather jacket is gorgeous, but the hat? Â Let’s just say he didn’t have to fight anyone to get that hat. Â And whatever he paid for it, it wasn’t a bargain. Â The Ale, of course, was how he stayed awake until 4 a.m. to shop after eating two Thanksgiving dinners. Â We also had a visit from Dianna, her handsome hubby, and the Kennedy Kaboodle. Â And yes, I WAS still in my jammies, and no they didn’t care. Â Good friends are like that. Â And let me just say that there’s nothing like spending time with ridiculously adorable children to put you in the holiday spirit 🙂
Saturday, I finished my NaNoWriMo novel – WOO HOO! while Michael’s Old Guy Band Day was in full swing in my basement (AKA Turn 3 Recording Studio). Â I heard the tracks they recorded yesterday, and let me just say they ROCK!
Sunday I meal planned, grocery shopped, and got down to some serious online shopping. Â I also made and froze five meatloaves ( Michael did the heavy work) and got caught up on emails, blog reading, and bill paying. Â Then I played with my new Pampered Chef goodies that arrived late Saturday (thanks, Angel!)
Today I took a trip downtown to my favorite thrift store to buy some workout clothes for my December Project, and guess what I got?
Yes, I am now a Unique Thrift Store VIP (pick yourself up off the floor, Kelley, I can hear you laughing) and I will now get an extra 25% off my Unique haul every Thursday. Â And yes, I will drive to the murder capital of Louisville to get a bargain.
Oh, did I mention a December Project? Â Well, I thought since that whole NaNoWriMo thing went so well I should do something for December. Â I haven’t ironed out all the details, but it will involve me losing TWENTY POUNDS in December. Â And guess what? Â You’re all invited! Â Well, except for you skinny bitches, but you knew that already, now didn’t you? Â Check back on Wednesday for details. Â I haven’t named this project yet, so you skinny bitches feel free to suggest names. Â I really don’t want you to feel left out.
