My “I AM” Poem

I almost didn’t join in Mama Kat’s Writer’s Workshop this week. I’ve been a bit down. There are a lot of things up in the air in my life. Everything could be really great. . . or really awful. And although there are some things I can control most of them I can’t. Β Anyway, I decided to just grow a pair and do it – LOL! Here’s the link if you’d like to create your own I AM Poem.

I Am

I am Quiet and Hopeful
I wonder what my life will be like six months from now.
I hear gentle waves lapping the shore.
I see smiles.
I want to live without dread.
I am Quiet and Hopeful

I pretend everything is fine.
I feel a vise clamped at my neck.
I touch long, soft fabric in a yoga class.
I worry I’ve made too many wrong choices.
I cry about experiences my children have missed.
I am Quiet and Hopeful

I understand it’s all in God’s hands.
I say I have done my very best.
I dream about a job I lost four years ago.
I try to get out of bed and take a shower.
I hope our lives will get better soon.
I am Quiet and Hopeful

  2. I AM…impressed with what you’ve shared! That quiet hope is the first thing I think about each day, throughout the day and the last thing at night.

I wish better things for you!

  3. I’m so glad you did this! My heart was in my throat reading it. You deserve all good things and you remind me to not take some of life’s simply luxuries for granted.
