Texting With Aaron

While he’s been home from college on Christmas break my son, Aaron, helped me select a netbook for blogging and writing on the go. It arrived a couple of days ago, Aaron installed the software I needed, and today I took it to work with me. About ten o’clock I texted Aaron to tell him how much I loved my new friend.

me: I love my little netbook. I’m going to name him Irving, sew him cute clothes, and take him with me everywhere.

Aaron: Lol i feel like i should send that to everyone i know and see what kind of reaction i get

me: Feel free. I’ve been introducing him to my coworkers all day long!

Aaron: Lol you’re such a dork 😛

me: Love you, too! >^.,.^<

Aaron: Lol

It’s nice to know my children find me entertaining 🙂

More on Irving soon . . .

  1. My netbook doesn’t have a name…but I tend to attach either the word “cute” or “fabulous” to all of my toys. I have a “cute pink netbook,” a “cute pink camera,” a “cute yellow car,” etc. My family just rolls their eyes at me…or, to quote my teen, “Just **how** old are you, Mom?”

    1. They’re just jealous ’cause your stuff is cuter than their stuff! And I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one who loves the word “fabulous”. The kids tease me mercilessly about how “fabulous” I think everything is 🙂

    1. My 19-year-old finds me much more amusing than my 12-year-old does. Of course it helps that he’s usually two hours away at college instead of at home where I can annoy the crap out of him every day 🙂

  2. I have a netbook, but oddly, I don’t use it. I think it was an impulse buy a couple of years ago and since I don’t work outside the home, I don’t have much use for it.

I’m glad you can keep in touch with your son — isn’t technology amazing? 🙂

    1. I hope I’ll stay in the habit of using it. If nothing else, I’ll take it when I meet a friend and fellow writer for coffee. We chat and write at the same time 🙂
