The Simple Joy of a Three-Dog Nap ~ Saints and Scripture Sunday

Ecclesiastes 8:15
So I commend the enjoyment of life, because nothing is better for a man under the sun than to eat and drink and be glad. Then joy will accompany him in his work all the days of the life God has given him under the sun.

"Is it naptime yet? I'm exhausted."

I have been on vacation since Tuesday afternoon, and it’s been wonderful. Of course it would have been nice to be on a “real vacation”, which to me means the whole family and a beach, but this was very nice, too.  I did all the little things I never seem to have time to do normally, but that I enjoy SO much.  John and I had Dairy Queen pumpkin pie blizzards after I picked him up from play practice.  I sat and watched a movie with my husband.  I made up a new recipe just for fun.  I didn’t clean my house – I read novels instead.  And every afternoon I took a nap in my bed with three dogs.  And I have to tell you, a three-dog-nap is the ultimate in napping comfort on a Fall afternoon.  ESPECIALLY when you follow it with a pumpkin pie blizzard.  I’ve been pretty successful at “eat, drink, and be glad” this week.  How about you?
