These are my friend Kim’s precious children. They are many years older now (Krista is a sophomore in high school), but this is one of my favorite pictures of them. They were brought up by loving, intelligent parents in a Christian home. Obviously, that does not keep the little suckers from turning on you in Chick-Fil-A. Kim was discussing important extended family issues on her cellphone during a little summer lunch out with the kiddos and apparently expressed a less-than-Christian opinion of a physician who’s not doing the most fabulous job of diagnosing and treating a family member. Once she ended her phone call Krista said, “Mom, what would Jesus do?” and Nathan quoted a Bible verse (these kids are SO cool). Kim, not to be intimidated by her offspring, said, “DO I LOOK LIKE JESUS?” She evidently said this in the loud, crazed fashion we mothers are all-to-familiar with from our own Chick-Fil-A and Wal-Mart conversations with our own children, and all the old blue-hairs clustered around stared in a most embarrassing fashion. MORAL: It doesn’t matter what the hell you do, your kids are still going to embarrass you in Chick-Fil-A!
